The New York Knicks have long been wanting and needing a big man with defensive mindset. But for the coming NBA season, worry no more NY fans. They have acquired former Dallas center Tyson Chandler.

They have gotten better the past few days. Chandler does not only bring his big size presence, he brings everything the Knicks lacks the past season - he defends the paint, defends the rim, rebounds the ball, block shots, defend and defend. That's what he brings to a team - His defensive mindset.

Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire now got a new guy to help them and keep their hopes alive of chasing their ultimate goal - to win a Chanmpionship!

Lamar Odom traded to Dallas Mavs

Days after the "blocked" trade rumors of Chris Paul to LA Lakers, Lamar Odom was traded to the current NBA World Champs Dallas Mavericks instead.

Dallas Mavs earlier lost Caron Butler and Tyson Chandler and it is a great, great way to start retooling and restocking its forward and center positions.

For Odom, it is a better way to start the season to another team than be with his old team but lacks energy and feeling a bit weird after all.

this was the scene before Odom was traded. But now, they are teammates.

It's a done deal! Lamar Odom to Dallas Mavericks. An excellent addition to a team, after all his a versatile big man and former 6th Man of the Year.

Brandon Roy seeks Medical Retirement

Portland Trail Blazers guard, Brandon Roy has made his decision and concluded - HIS retiring due to medical reasons. His been long sidelined because of his knee injury. He came back but had it operated again (He had a total of 6 operations) and made it into a conclusion that it was really over. He's been told by his doctor not to play again after having thorough evaluations and treatment.

Sources said Brandon Roy was "emotional" and "needs time to rest". Roy is not yet ready to face media and the public. His teammates were surprised after hearing the news. They still spotted Roy at the Blazers practice' facility and was amazed how Roy was in high spirits and ready to start the season. Then came the meeting with the doctors and later with team officials.

It's a sad emotion after hearing this, Brandon Roy was once the player that seemed to be the franchise player and one of the best players in Portland Trail Blazers' history. He had a beautiful flare and a dramatic game-winning shots with regularity often in prime time moments that usually aired in national television.

Brandon Roy will end his NBA career in just five seasons but will be remembered as one of the most respected, well liked, loved and talented players ever to play the game of basketball.

New Orleans Hornets will not trade the MVP Caliber All Star Player Cris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers.
It's not true that Chris Paul has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange of Pau Gasol.

“It’s not true that the owners killed the deal, the deal was never discussed at the Board of Governors meeting and the league office declined to make the trade for basketball reasons.” -Mike Bass, NBA Spokeman

The deal was not finalized because some NBA owners complained about the big market deals in the NBA.

Battier leaving Memphis to join Heat

Miami Heat is indeed acquiring the best players they could have whether as a team player or the best player they could possibly get. With the latest development from NBA teams, they (Miami Heat) signed a winning role player in, Shane Battier.

Battier isn't the kind of player who wants 48 minutes of basketball playing time. It's clear as a mineral water - he just wants to play and help his team get a ring! He has a defensive mindset and a defensive mentality that would be a great help for the surging Eastern Conference Champs, Miami Heat.

Battier was once the ultimate defender of Dwayne Wade and Lebron James, but now, they will be only defending each other during practices and scrimmages.

With several players from their roster sidelined due to injury (Mike Miller and James Jones who's still not sure of returning to Miami), Battier is surely another great fit for the Heat. He has a great shooting touch from the outside and his defense will give the Heat another lift.

Caron Butler landed in LA Clippers

To the surprise of everybody, Caron Butler, the small forward of the Dallas Mavericks, has just agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers to a three year $24 million deal. After recovering from his knee injury that sidelined him for much of the season when he was still with the Mavericks, his now ready and is a good fit for the Clippers on and off the court.

Butler have been one of the NBA teams prospects when free agency started, but opted to sign with the Clippers instead of teaming up with NBA MVP Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. Well, who knows what Caron might bring to the electrifying team of Blake Griffin, right?
